The Illinois Department of Natural Resources, in partnership with Northwestern University’s Collaboratory Project, invites all 4th, 5th and 6th grade teachers to participate in the IDNR Illinois Biodiversity Spider Study. In this year-long biodiversity project, students across Illinois will collect data on the life-cycle and activities of two target spider populations in and around their school to help IDNR scientists learn more about spiders in Illinois.

The online teacher workshop will be available beginning Monday July 16th. It will prepare teachers for using a copy of the IDNR Spider Study Project to facilitate their students monitoring two target spider populations, observing, collecting and analyzing data, and reporting and discussing their observations and analysis in the Collaboratory.
