Tomorrow, I’m presenting at the Illinois Education and Computing Conference in Springfield, Illinois at the Crowne Plaza Springfield (one of my favorite hotels … no kidding!). I’ll be presenting Collecting Oral Histories on the Collaboratory at 9:30 in the morning in the Capital II room and at 1:20 in the afternoon I’ll be talking about Creating an Online Community for Students through Collaborative Sponsored Projects in the Springfield Room.
Previously, I mentioned the Collaboratory’s Symposium, where we bring Collaboratory teachers together to talk about the interesting projects they are doing. Well, since this year we didn’t webcast it, if you weren’t physically there, you missed it. But finally, we posted video of our presentations, so you can relive the experience and see how awesome we really are. And you can see me introduce the Collaboratory Sponsored and Partner Projects, present on Sponsored Projects in the Classroom, and present on Collecting Histories (coming soon).
Sharat Raju is one of those friends I’ve known … forever.
Yesterday, I saw his new movie, Divided We Fall. It addresses an issue that frankly has not been addressed enough: discrimination and violence toward Sikhs, Muslims and Arab-Americans after 9/11. If it plays in your area, check it out.
Also, be sure to see his award-winning debut film, American Made.
I plan on putting my backsplash in my kitchen up myself. And I’m absolutely terrified. Luckily, Apartment Therapy came to the resue. Thanks AT! I’ll let you know how it goes.
