Check out my mention in my fellow AEL, animator and Flash-lover Colin Maxwell’s blog for his degree class, Not in Class. I will defeat Colin in bocce any day.

Today, I traveled to Woodstock, Illinois to train twenty-five teachers in the Collaboratory’s ePortfolio for Teaching American History. As the website describes it,

Teaching American History Grant program is a discretionary grant program funded under Title II-C, Subpart 4 of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act. The goal of the program is to support programs that raise student achievement by improving teachers’ knowledge, understanding, and appreciation of American history.

The teachers loved the ePortfolio and were able to see how they could use this tool not just for their own professional development, but for their students, as well.

P.S. If you’re ever in Woodstock, I recommend the Tip Top Sandwich.

At the risk of creating some more unnecessary smug, I just got these and think everyone should get some, too. It’s a great alternative to using plastic or paper bags that use up resources and junk up our environment. Woah! I almost fell off of this super high soapbox.

Yes, I finally upgraded to WordPress Version 2.0.4. So far, it’s pretty great.
