In case you’re passing through Springfield, Illinios today, I’ll be presenting “Creating an Online Community for Students through Collaborative Statewide Projects” at the Illinois Education and Technology Conference. I’ll be showing the good stuff from iVote, Day in Illinois, The Collaboratory’s Scariest Stories and the Rebecca Caudill 2006 Internet Book Club.

The H2Ed Conference was fantastic and the Mindrap session went swimmingly. Check out the resulting rap about the number zero that the group of teachers that gathered that morning put together in a matter of minutes.

I’ll be in New York City this weekend to present Building Demand for Math Literacy with Multimedia with Melanie West of Tiz Media Foundation. We are presenting at the Interactive Telecommunications Program at the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University (where we both got our Master’s) on Friday in Marianne Petit’s Social Applications of Internet Technologies class. Then we are presenting at the Hip Hop Education Summit at the Bronx Museum of the Arts on Saturday.

I will be virtually presenting in Quebec City this Friday at 8:30 a.m. at the Conference for the Association for Technology in Music Instruction. My part of the presentation was videotaped as I won’t be able to attend. I will be speaking on the design and programming challenges we faced while creating the Music Skills Test for Northwestern’s School of Music. The conference is in conjunction with the College Music Society.
